Mike Krzyzewski, fondly known as ‘Coach K’, shared his excitement with the Southeastern Conference, sending 14 programs to the NCAA tournament, the highest in college basketball history. In his latest podcast episode on SiriusXM, Krzyzewski remarked as to how eager he is to see the teams perform.
He also added another valuable point as a college basketball expert. Krzyzewski is reportedly interested to see how the numbers and NET rankings will work with these many teams entering the NCAA tournament solely from the SEC.
“I’m gonna be excited watching the record 14 SEC teams after one game. After two games, I just want to see if the metrics and the NET rankings, which put such a heavy emphasis on November and December games, hold up.” Mike Krzyzewski said on his SiriusXM podcast.
Mike Krzyzewski mainly coached the Duke Blue Devils in their college basketball program from 1980 to 2022. In his tenure, ‘Coach K’ took the Blue Devils to five NCAA championships and 15 ACC championships.
Apart from coaching college basketball with the Duke Blue Devils, Krzyzewski also coached the United States national basketball team. In the 2008, 2012, and 2016 Olympics, his teams won gold medals.
