The Milwaukee Bucks rallied from a 24-point fourth-period deficit to beat the Minnesota Timberwolves 110-103 for their fifth consecutive win, and a familiar face gave them a massive jolt.
Bobby Portis returned from his 25-game suspension and dropped 18 points, 10 rebounds, and two steals on 7-for-15 shooting from the field off the bench. He was suspended last February for testing positive for painkiller Tramadol, which he thought was Toradol since he had consumed it before.
Portis was roughly $2.9 million poorer in salary because of the suspension. The Milwaukee Bucks went 15-10 in the 25 games he missed.
Giannis Antetokounmpo top-scored for Milwaukee with 23 points, 13 rebounds, and 10 assists on 9-for-15 shooting from the field. Kevin Porter Jr., Kyle Kuzma, and Brook Lopez added 21, 10, and 10 points.

The Milwaukee Bucks needed everyone to contribute to their comeback against the Minnesota Timberwolves, and Bobby Portis did just that. His biggest play was stealing the ball from Anthony Edwards at 98-97 with less than 3:10 left to set up a Kevin Porter Jr. dunk that put Milwaukee ahead for good.
“We got our man back,” Porter said about Portis via Lily Zhao of FOX6 News. “Since I’ve been here, I’ve never seen a crowd pop like that. Bobby checks in and you can just feel the whole aura around. The energy was different.”
“Really excited to have him back,” Kuzma added via The Associated Press. “I think that he is a huge part of our identity, our mood and feeling out there on the court. I think he’s somebody that has just a certain amount of aura to him, tenacity that can ignite a group.”
