There are a lot of expectations for the Milwaukee Bucks next season. Especially with the activity they had this offseason. The biggest change for the Bucks was waiving Damian Lillard, who’s still considered to be a star guard by many. However, his torn Achilles tendon could prevent Milwaukee from being a title-contending team. Instead, they used the available roster space to sign free agent center Myles Turner.
This move left All-Star forward Giannis Antetokounmpo as the lone star on the team. Management tried to make up for it by surrounding Antetokounmpo with productive role players. They added Cole Anthony, Gary Harris and Amir Coffey from free agency.
Although the Greek Freak is all by himself, there are positives to being the only star in the roster. Former NBA star Blake Griffin even made a bold prediction about what the outcome would be for the 2021 Finals MVP by the end of the season.

The former Los Angeles Clippers star appeared as a guest on the “Post Moves with Candace Parker and Aliyah Boston.” During his appearance, Griffin revealed his prediction of Antetokounmpo. Being the lone star for the Milwaukee Bucks, the six-time All-Star believes he’ll be challenged and win the regular-season MVP award.
“I’m gonna go with Giannis [for] MVP. I think his team can still be top four in the East, and I also think without the help he’s had around him, he’s gonna be playing close to 40 minutes a night. And I think he’s going to accept that challenge and average 30,” Griffin said.

It’s not something that is impossible for Antetokounmpo. He has won the MVP when he had help. This time, the entire offense will run through him, giving him more chances to shine as an individual.
Antetokounmpo’s future with the Milwaukee Bucks is still unsure

Before the start of free agency, there were questions if Giannis Antetokounmpo will request a trade and force his way out of the Milwaukee Bucks. However, the Greek star hasn’t made a formal plea to leave the franchise that drafted him. Additionally, he has hinted multiple times about continuing his career in Milwaukee.
While there’s an indication that he’ll remain with the Bucks, NBA insider Brett Siegel reported that his future in Milwaukee is still unclear.
“That is why his future remains a major unknown this offseason and entering the 2025-26 NBA season,” Siegel wrote. “All other 29 teams around the league continue to watch this situation brewing in Milwaukee, as further clarity on Giannis’ situation will present itself once he returns from Greece and the EuroBasket tournament overseas.”
The Bucks have to wait for Antetokounmpo to return from the 2025 FIBA EuroBasket to know if he’ll stay or not.
