Given the slow start to the Milwaukee Bucks‘ 2024-25 NBA season, there was speculation that Giannis Antetokounmpo wouldn’t stay long with the team. According to ESPN’s Shams Charania last February, there could be a significant roster change in Milwaukee. That is if the star forward can’t get the “sustained long-term winning” he’s longed for with the Bucks.

Although Antetokounmpo loves to stay and play for Milwaukee, he prioritizes winning more. Charania stated that most personnel in the Bucks organization understand what’s at stake for them this season. With the report from the ESPN analyst, Bovada posted on X (formerly Twitter) the teams with the highest odds to land Giannis if the moment comes when he asks out of his current team.

In Bovada’s odds tracker, the New York Knicks have the best chance of acquiring the two-time MVP.

However, New York Post’s Stefan Bondy shut down the talk about the Knicks possibly landing Giannis. Bondy explained why it would be difficult for the New York team to acquire the Greek Freak on Thursday’s episode of FanDuel TV’s “Run It Back.”

“They were kind of waiting for their big splash. They were waiting years for it, and they made it in the summer,” Bondy said. “They got Karl-Anthony Towns and they got Mikal Bridges. So, the idea that, let’s say Giannis Antetokounmpo jars loose, they don’t have enough assets to get somebody like that right now.”

If Giannis Antetokounmpo gets traded this summer, it won't be to the Knicks 😬

Before the start of the season, the Knicks made a trade for KAT, which gave them the offensive boost they needed. New York also acquired Mikal Bridges, a capable two-way player who has been valuable for them.

As for the Milwaukee Bucks, they’ve turned things around following the sluggish start to the season. Giannis and his crew are fifth in the Eastern Conference with a 46-34 record.

Trade proposal sends the Milwaukee Bucks star to the West Coast

There have been surprising trade proposals throughout the season but one suggestion could send the Milwaukee Bucks star to the Golden State Warriors. Spencer See of ClutchPoints proposed the Bucks make a blockbuster deal with the Warriors.

Given Antetokounmpo’s value, the Warriors could send away a plethora of players and picks to make the deal come true. Golden State will acquire the nine-time All-Star and Tyler Smith.

The Warriors, meanwhile, will trade Draymond Green, Gary Payton II, Buddy Hield, Jonathan Kuminga, Moses Moody, a 2026 first-round draft pick, and a 2028 first-round draft pick

While Bondy shut down Antetokounmpo’s link to the Knicks, that doesn’t mean he still won’t get traded. This time, however, the Bucks star could find himself in a different conference.
