The Milwaukee Bucks opened their 2025-26 NBA campaign with a 133-120 home victory against the Washington Wizards last night. However, it came at a cost, as one of their key backcourt players left the game early with an injury.

With less than three minutes left in the first quarter, Porter left the court after stepping on Bobby Portis’ foot while trying to get into a defensive position. The Milwaukee Bucks guard finished the game with 10 points, two assists, and one steal on 3-for-5 shooting from the field.

“It didn’t look good, I’ll just say that,” Rivers said about Porter’s injury via Jim Owczarski of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel. “He’s gonna do an MRI (Oct. 23) and just gotta hope for the best. But, looking at it, it was a pretty bad sprain.”

The Milwaukee Bucks won the game, primarily because Giannis Antetokounmpo went off. The two-time league MVP had a game-high 37 points, 14 rebounds, and five assists on 16-for-26 shooting from the field in 27 minutes of action.

Milwaukee Bucks News: Khris Middleton reflects on revisiting his former team

One of the highlights of yesterday’s game was Khris Middleton’s emotional return to Milwaukee. The 34-year-old forward spent 11-plus seasons with the Milwaukee Bucks before he was traded for Kyle Kuzma last season.

“I try to get not too caught up in the moment, but the standing ovations are something that’s special, something that I really didn’t anticipate too much,” Middleton stated via FOX6 News. “To get that type of love and appreciation from the fans, man, that’s cool. I think we all picture ourselves as kids waving to 20,000 people, and I finally got that moment today.”

“Yeah, I did. It was cool very special, there were still a couple of 34’s, but nah, I mean, I definitely appreciate the 22’s,” he continued. “I think words really can’t describe that part. That people really spend their money on buying my jersey and wearing it to school, work, out to eat, wherever. That’s something I think my family definitely appreciates and loves, and I wish my father could have been here and seen this tonight because I know he would have loved it also.”
