Kevin Garnett recently recalled his first impression of Giannis Antetokounmpo during a recent interview with the Milwaukee Bucks’ media team. Garnett and Antetokounmpo only faced off against each other five times, as Garnett retired in 2016.

“Well, I had played against Giannis a couple of times, and I think the first couple of times I played him, I didn’t even remember. It wasn’t anything that made me kind of, you know, stick out to remember the kid or anything. I don’t even recall it… to the point where it wasn’t an impression,” Garnett said about Antetokounmpo.
“It wasn’t until the third time, or I think I was a little older. I think it was in Minnesota. I think we had a preseason game against Milwaukee, and I could tell just how he looked like Bruce Lee. He looked super ripped,” he added.

Garnett said he went on to work out with Antetokounmpo and saw serious star potential from the Milwaukee Bucks forward early on. The 15-time NBA All-Star is proud to have helped Antetokounmpo become what he is today.
Milwaukee Bucks center drops bold championship prediction for next season
Bobby Portis believes that the Milwaukee Bucks can win the Larry O’Brien trophy if things go their way this upcoming season. The team had a busy summer acquiring Myles Turner, Cole Anthony, and Gary Harris while re-signing Kevin Porter Jr., Taurean Prince, Gary Trent Jr., and Ryan Rollins, among others.

The only thing that’s been wrong with us is that people have been hurt. You know, we win a championship in 2022, Khris Middleton goes down. You know, we’re losing seven to Boston. In 2023, first round, Giannis tries to dunk on Kevin Love, comes down, and hurts his back. In 2024, Giannis hurts his leg against the Celtics in a regular game, then doesn’t play another game,” Portis said on ESPN Milwaukee.
“We ain’t been really healthy so I don’t make excuses, but that’s just what the tables was for us. So, why can’t we do it this year? All you need is health,” he reiterated.
