The Minnesota Timberwolves protected their home court two games straight after a 116-113 victory on Sunday, in Game 4 against the Los Angeles Lakers. In Games 3 and 4, the Wolves didn’t let the Lakers win on the road to hold a 3-1 lead in the first-round series. Minnesota’s Anthony Edwards did most of the work with his 43-point performance.

Edwards’ offensive outing was unstoppable, as he shot 50 percent on a 5-for-10 shooting from deep. The three-time All-Star also had nine rebounds and six assists. Ant-Man also had a lot of chances from the free-throw line. The shooting guard had 17 trips at the charity stripe and made the most of it, shooting 82.4 percent.

For most of the game, the Wolves were down against the Lakers. At one time, L.A.’s lead grew to 12 points. However, the team stayed in the game and took over when it mattered. After the win, five-time champion Magic Johnson posted on X (formerly Twitter) and credited Edwards’ performance.

“Just a brilliant performance and masterful 43 points by Anthony Edwards tonight in the Timberwolves win over the Lakers. As the old saying goes, live by the jump shot, die by the jump shot,” Magic posted on social media.

With the Wolves’ important win at home, Edwards summarized his performance by saying he’s always dreamed of big moments.

“I’ve been dreaming all my life for these moments,” Edwards said.

The former Georgia standout said the presence of his 6-month-old daughter, Aubri Summers, urged him to perform at the top of his game. The Minnesota Timberwolves will travel to Los Angeles to play in Game 5 and attempt to close the series at Crypto.com Arena.

Edwards has not taken his foot off the gas pedal against the Lakers and led the Minnesota Timberwolves to a victory. In the postseason, it’s never easy to get a win, especially against a team that finished third in the conference. However, the Wolves have been sensational in the first round of the playoffs.

After their significant win over L.A., fans revealed their thoughts on the series on social media. Here are some of what the fans said.

“3-1 lead? Bron’s gonna need some Space Jam magic,” a fan said.

“Another Lebron 3-1 comeback loading..” another fan commented.

“Having no true Center is the Lakers demise,” one fan said.

“LEBRON JAMES IN THE 4TH QUARTER: O POINTS 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣”
