Minnesota Timberwolves star Anthony Edwards receives a message from Miami Heat legend Dwyane Wade. In the past four seasons, Edwards has emerged as one of the most entertaining and competitive stars in the NBA. During that span, he’s been an All-Star three times and led the Wolves to the playoffs four times. The former Georgia star also proved that he is a big-time player by being in back-to-back Western Conference finals in 2024 and 2025.

Unfortunately for Edwards and the Wolves, it hasn’t been fruitful for them in the conference finals. They’ve suffered back-to-back losses. First, it was against the Luka Doncic-led Dallas Mavericks in five games. That was followed by another five-game series loss against the eventual NBA champions, the Oklahoma City Thunder.

There have been concerns about Minnesota’s ability to overcome the obstacle following its second consecutive conference finals defeat. Former NBA star Dwyane Wade gave his thoughts on the issue and issued some demands for Edwards.

“We just watched this last year with Luka [Doncic],” Wade said in the recent episode of “Time Out.”. “We just watched y’all lose in five. I don’t want to see the same thing. So, hey, what y’all bringing back that’s new, that’s improved?

“Ant’s going to have to go in the lab this summer,” Wade said.. “And it’s not just high pick-and-roll work. Ant gonna have to learn how to score all over the floor. He’s going to have to get to that post. He’s going to have to get off to that catch-and-shoot. He’s going to get into screening more. He’s going to have to get into opening up his package.”

Wade believes that doing these things can help the Minnesota Timberwolves star eventually get over the hump.

Julius Randle reveals true feelings about the Minnesota Timberwolves trading for him

Before the 2024–25 NBA season began, the New York Knicks traded Julius Randle to the Minnesota Timberwolves for Karl-Anthony Towns. Donte DiVincenzo was also part of the deal.

It caught almost everyone by surprise since the Wolves had just been in the conference finals with Towns. In a recent interview with AmenClinics, Randle talked about his true feelings about the unexpected trade.

“It was amazing. It was very unexpected. The trade happens and you really… I’ve switched teams in my career, but I’d never been traded,” Randle said.

Although the move was out of the blue, the three-time All-Star was ready to contribute to the Wolves. However, he pointed out that he didn’t know how to adjust his game. But he stuck to his brand of basketball and averaged 21.1 points, 6.7 rebounds and 4.6 assists in his first 10 games for Minnesota.
