Rob Dillingham was limited in his first season with Minnesota Timberwolves in terms of games as Mike Conley is locked for that main point guard role. That is against the high expectations people have of him coming to the season as their 8th overall pick.

The sophomore guard himself feels he could have done more and so, he is determined to prove himself this time.

Rob Dillingham on what it felt like to not play his rookie year

“It’s hard to explain honestly, like for ya’ll if you had something you love to do, and you do it every single day and now you just can’t do it. You’re still working at it but you don’t get to perform. You’re going… pic.twitter.com/Ptb35JQkYL

He played in the team’s first two pre-season games but it looks like he’ll have to work harder.

He played the most minutes in loss to Denver Nuggets and posted 7-2-9. The follow up performance against the Indiana Pacers was a drop off after posting just 3 points, four assists in 22 minutes, the second most in the team.

Minnesota Timberwolves will let him go?

Some Wolves fans are now preparing for the worst when it comes to Dillingham’s time in Minnesota.

The reset handoff to Ant is fine, but Rob Dillingham needs to be more dynamic off the advantage here.

The clear issue is his lack of height, limiting his driving ability, but the pull-up was probably there. A big advantage created by DiVincenzo that feels squandered. pic.twitter.com/MqDUAwaZNc

Rob dillingham better find a way to get traded to a team who isn’t serious about winning games

Rob Dillingham is going to find his self out of the NBA if he doesn’t start playing like a Top 10 draft pick….

Right now, new acquisition Bones Hyland appear to the more effective back up point guard after his stellar performances in the last two games. He had 18 points vs Nuggets and 11 against the Pacers.

Even head coach Chris Finch is impressed by what the veteran is showing.

“He’s a range shooter, can create his own shot, he’s an underrated pick-and-roll player, I think he’s an underrated playmaker,” Finch told reporters.

“He’s always been an explosive scorer, but he’s got a ton of ball skill. We really needed him to pick up some playmaking duties and he’s done a good job of that. … He’s a guy you can swing the ball to and he can make a 28-footer.”
