Only a few NBA players can match the level of hype surrounding Minnesota Timberwolves’ Anthony Edwards.
While the young star failed to lead his team to the NBA Finals last season, there’s no doubt in anyone’s mind that he’s a bona fide superstar who deserves all of the flowers he’s getting from fans and analysts. From his on-court performances for the Wolves and Team USA to his impressive mentality, it’s hard for any well-meaning basketball fan not to fall in love with the young man’s game.

Adidas are well aware of the pot of gold they have on their hands, and they’re not letting any other show brand get their young star from their hands.
Adidas signs Minnesota Timberwolves star Anthony Edwards to a multi-year extension

Sports Illustrated’s Patrick Andres wrote a piece about Edwards’ off-court activities as he focuses on working with Team USA to win his first international medal:
Edwards is signing a lucrative extension with Adidas believed to be worth eight figures annually, according to a Wednesday morning report from Shams Charania of The Athletic.
Per Charania, the “significant new deal cements Edwards as a face of Adidas.”
It’s not hard to see why Adidas would like to keep Edwards locked in with their brand for a long time. The high-flying guard was phenomenal for the Minnesota Timberwolves last season, averaging 25.9 points, 5.4 rebounds, and 5.1 assists on a 46.1%/35.7%/83.6% shooting clip.
He’s also one of the most likable players in the league. His interviews always crack interviewers and fans alike, and he seems to have fun whenever he plays the game.
It would be foolish for the world-famous sportswear brand to not tie him down and work on him to become the brand’s next big thing after Derrick Rose. He’s simply too likable of an athlete and a man to see him go to another brand. His rising star will only continue to bring more revenue, so tying him down is a major win for all parties involved.
