It would be fair for some Minnesota Timberwolves fans to be bracing themselves to watch their team make the postseason through the play-in tournament after Anthony Edwards got slapped an eighteenth technical foul.
The mercurial point guard is going through one of his most difficult seasons, discipline-wise. It’s not the first time he’s been suspended this season, and the timing couldn’t have been worse for him.

The prospect of facing a young and exciting Houston Rockets roster in the first round when they struggled to close out games multiple times this season would be a problem for the Chris Finch-led squad.
While some were preparing themselves for the worst, others hoped that the league gives their star some slack and decide to reverse the decision. Those who did just that were greeted with great news after the league released a new statement regarding Ant-Man’s availability in the Wolves’ season finale.
League rescinds Anthony Edwards’s 18th technical foul, makes him available to the Minnesota Timberwolves’ season finale

News of Edwards’ latest status for the Timberwolves game came at an unassuming time of the day. The league posted a quick update on Edwards’ latest technical foul during their match against the Brooklyn Nets.
“Anthony Edwards’ (MIN) technical foul at 6:29 of the 2nd quarter on 4/11/25 (vs. BKN) has been rescinded upon league office review,” the statement read.
Fans immediately jumped on the sudden statement.
“Tech was soft anyways,” one fan replied while posting a gif of Edwards.
“Good call. Ref never should’ve given it to him in the first place,” another wrote.
Some praised the league in their act to save face from the embarrassing incident, while others were excited with the kind of play Ant will be showing everyone tomorrow.
The Utah Jazz aren’t the toughest team Minnesota can face at this point of the season. However, they share the same record as the Golden State Warriors. The Wolves are behind on the head-to-head, with the Warriors winning three of their four regular-season meetings.

The Dubs will be facing a tough LA Clippers side to end their season, so it’s in the Timberwolves’ best interests to do everything to secure the win. Having Edwards back on the starting lineup to start the game is a great way to ensure they win their final game and possibly secure their automatic postseason berth.
