Minnesota Timberwolves fans just went through a crazy 24-hour cycle where they didn’t know if Anthony Edwards would play in the team’s final regular-season game.
The superstar guard was initially slapped with a one-game suspension after getting involved in a heated conversation with the referee during the Wolves’ game against the Brooklyn Nets. It was brutal for Wolves fans because the next game was the team’s season finale against the Utah Jazz.

Downing-Imagn ImagesThe Jazz may not be tough opposition for Minnesota, but the Wolves need the W to get the automatic playoff spot the Golden State Warriors were holding. Edwards sitting out of the game could cement their participation in the play-in tournament. Being in this tournament means they would have to beat the Houston Rockets or the Oklahoma City Thunder.
However, the league decided to rescind Ant-Man’s suspension and let Minnesota’s star man play in the most important game of their season so far.
While many Timberwolves fans were happy with the decision, not everyone was on board with the move. One former Warriors player didn’t bother hiding his disgust with the move.
Dennis Schroder blasts the NBA for allowing Anthony Edwards to play in Minnesota Timberwolves’ final regular-season game
Like many Utah Jazz fans, the Detroit Pistons guard didn’t kindly react to the league’s decision. He took to Instagram to share his frustrations with the move.
ClutchPoints’ Richard Pereira transcribed Schroder’s charged rant:
“LOVE TO COMPETE AGAINST THIS GUY!!! BUT NBA THIS IS INSANE!! IF THIS WOULD BE STEW, ME OR DILLON BROOKS WE WOULD BE SUSPENDED!!!!” Schroder said.
It’s not hard to see why the Schroder would be mad at the decision. Edwards has shown poor discipline this season, being the player with the most technical fouls. Some may argue that the league unfairly gave Edwards and the Wolves some breathing room, but the most anyone can do at this point is shrug and focus on finishing the regular season strong.
However, the Minnesota Timberwolves no longer have any excuse to not win the game. If they fail to secure the win against a struggling Jazz side, they have no one to blame but themselves.
