As one of the best rim protectors in the history of the NBA, Minnesota Timberwolves center Rudy Gobert knows that always being the last man on defense comes with the risk of getting posterized.
And that was exactly what happened to the French star Wednesday night during a preseason road game against the Chicago Bulls in Windy City.
Early in the second half, Bulls forward Patrick Williams left his primary defender and challenged the defense of Gobert at the rim. Williams then threw it down hard despite Gobert’s presence.

Some people on the internet seemingly loved the dunk as much as they liked seeing Gobert get put on a poster.

Rudy Gobert, Minnesota Timberwolves fall to Chicago Bulls

The Timberwolves lost the game, 125-123, with Gobert contributing 13 points and 17 rebounds along with a steal in 27 minutes. Interestingly, Gobert did not have a block, though, and even finished with a game-worst minus-18.
Nevertheless, that’s not going to take away anything from Gobert’s defensive resume.
The 32-year-old Gobert is the reigning NBA Defensive Player of the Year, an award that he has also won a total of four times.
