The Los Angeles Lakers are eager to field their father-son tandem of LeBron and Bronny James. This team will have that chance against the Minnesota Timberwolves in their first pre-season matchup on Friday, October 4. The match begins at 10:30 p.m. Eastern Time inside the halls of Acrisure Arena in Palm Desert, California. Having reached the NBA Western Conference Finals, the Minnesota Timberwolves are seen in NBA betting lines as the team that will come out on top.

    Minnesota Timberwolves

The Minnesota Timberwolves made a late trade before training camp by shipping Karl-Anthony Towns for Julius Randle and Donte DiVincenzo. Many fans are eager to see how the former New York Knicks players will mesh with Anthony Edwards and Rudy Gobert. This match will allow them to see if the new pairing will show a glimpse of future things. Rob Dillingham is an exciting rookie coming out fro the Kentucky Wildcats program and he should get good minutes to showcase his skills in the NBA.

    Players to watch:

Anthony Edwards: 27.6 PPG, 7.07 RPG, 6.5 APG, 1.5 SPG

Julius Randle: 19.1 PPG, 9.8 RPG, 3.7  APG

Rudy Gobert: 12.1 PPG, 9.8 RPG, 1.6 APG, 1.0 BPG

    Los Angeles Lakers

The Los Angeles Lakers made a gallant move to change coaches during the off-season, with JJ Redick replacing Darvin Ham. The team was able to draft college shooter Dalton Knecht and second-generation player Bronny James into the fold. It would be interesting to see how Redick simulates regular-season rotations in his first pre-season game. Most would love to see Bronny James play alongside his father in an NBA setting.

    Players to Watch:

    LeBron James: 27.8.0 PPG, 6.8 RPG, 8.8 APG, 2.4 SPG, 1.0 BPG

    Anthony Davis: 27.8 PPG, 15.6 RPG, 4.0  APG, 1.6 B

Austin Reaves: 16.8 PPG, 3.8 RPG, 3.6 APG, 1.4 SPG

Minnesota Timberwolves Vs Los Angeles Lakers Summary and Prediction

The Los Angeles Lakers are considered the home team here, with the California crowd behind them. JJ Redick should be itching to win his first NBA game, even if it is the regular season and LeBron James would probably want to score a win for his son, Bronny. The Lakers should be able to win this matchup over the Minnesota Timberwolves who are expected to have bumps putting Julius Randle and Donte DiVincenzo on the fold.

    Moneyline: Lakers +124

    Spread: Over 2.5

    Total: Over 217.5

    Score: 112-107, Lakers win.
