The Minnesota Timberwolves were on the brink of elimination entering Game 6 against the Denver Nuggets on Thursday night. After stealing away the first two games in Denver, the Wolves ended up losing three in a row against the defending champs, which saw them going into a must-win Game 6.
Anthony Edwards (game-high 27 points on 8-of-17 shooting, with four rebounds, four assists, three steals, and four treys) and Co. knew exactly what was at stake, and they responded in a major way by destroying the Nuggets on Thursday night, 115-70.
Minnesota Timberwolves Reach New Heights in Blowout Win

The Wolves clearly had no intention of letting their season come to an end on Thursday night. They came out with a huge statement win by scoring a mind-blowing 45-point victory over newly-crowned NBA MVP Nikola Jokic and the Nuggets.
As pointed out by StatMamba on X, formerly Twitter, this is the biggest margin we’ve ever witnessed in a playoff elimination game since the Los Angeles Lakers achieved a similar feat nearly seven decades ago:
The Timberwolves won by 44 points tonight.

This series is now headed back to Denver for a winner-take-all Game 7, and you just know that the momentum will be in Minnesota’s favor. Only one team will carry on with their season, while the loser will be sent on vacation.
You can be sure that Edwards will do everything in his power to make sure that it’s his Wolves that move on to the Western Conference Finals.
