Minnesota Timberwolves center Rudy Gobert chewed out the team for collapsing late in their 117-112 overtime loss to the Sacramento Kings on Monday, especially since they lost similarly against the Phoenix Suns not too long ago.

“No matter what happened before, we’ve got to have our spirit high and the spirit of a champion to try to always believe. Things are not always going to go our way, but until the buzzer sounds, we still have an opportunity…. Tonight, it felt like we didn’t have our spirit,” Gobert told Jace Frederick of the Pioneer Press.
“Let’s see if we actually care about doing the things that we need to do to win and putting our teammates before ourselves… Hopefully, we learn,” he added.

Gobert logged the most minutes against the Sacramento Kings, producing 11 points, 13 rebounds, and two blocks on 4-for-6 shooting from the field across 41 minutes of action.
Minnesota Timberwolves News: Chris Finch diagnoses the team’s struggles after another late-game collapse
Minnesota Timberwolves head coach Chris Finch pointed to the team’s lack of an offensive rhythm as the main reason behind their late-game collapses against the Sacramento Kings and Phoenix Suns. Before their two-game losing streak, they scored at least 120 points in six of their previous seven games.

“We’re struggling right now to find a good rhythm offensively, all around. So, we gotta get back to the way we were playing about a week ago when it comes to offense,” Finch said. “A lot of things we were doing then are missing now.”
Things won’t get easier for Minnesota when they visit the Oklahoma City Thunder next on Wednesday night.
