Rudy Gobert was instrumental in the Minnesota Timberwolves’ 131-122 win over the Cleveland Cavaliers on Thursday night. Besides his defense, the Frenchman chipped in 11 points, 13 rebounds, and two steals on 5-for-5 shooting from the field across 37 minutes of action.
This is the second straight time Gobert has shot perfectly from the field, and Minnesota Timberwolves star Anthony Edwards made sure to give Gobert his flowers for the work he has put in on the offensive end.
“He’s been phenomenal… I mean one, his catching has gotten tremendous, it’s crazy like he’s catching everything now, and he’s making the right plays every time we get him in the pocket, so the trust there has gotten a lot better,” Edwards said via Andrew Dukowitz of Zone Coverage.
Overall, it was a balanced effort for the Minnesota Timberwolves, as four of their starters scored at least 20 points against the Cleveland Cavaliers. Julius Randle led the way with 28 points, 11 rebounds, and eight assists on 10-for-21 shooting from the field in 35 minutes of action.

Minnesota Timberwolves News: Anthony Edwards breaches 10,000 career points in win vs. Cleveland Cavaliers
Anthony Edwards became the third-youngest player in NBA history to reach 10,000 points on Thursday night. The Minnesota Timberwolves guard is one of the seven players who have hit the scoring milestone before age 25, joining the likes of Luka Doncic, Kobe Bryant, Tracy McGrady, LeBron James, Kevin Durant, and Carmelo Anthony.
“To be honest, it’s cool, but I know I’ve got a lot more to go, so it’s really nothing, for real,” Edwards told ESPN. “I’m kind of sick that I got in front of Kobe. I wished I would’ve waited like 100 days or something, but yeah, it’s all good.”
“I mean, listen, the scoring comes natural to him in a lot of ways. I think back to the first 40-point game that he had in his rookie year down in Phoenix, and at that point in time, we knew there was something inside him that he can get to that. But what I’m most pleased with is he’s playing a great floor game, he really is,” head coach Chris Finch said of Edwards.
