Minnesota Timberwolves star Anthony Edwards led the team to their sixth win this season against the Portland Trail Blazers on Friday, with a final score of 127-102. Edwards and the Wolves did not hold back against the Blazers as he registered 35 points.

Edwards made 15 attempts from beyond the arc, demonstrating his impressive performance. Out of three attempts, the Wolves star made nine. The two-time All-Star has made more long-range attempts this season, averaging 11.1 attempts.

The Wolves star is averaging his best efficiency from three, making 46.1% of his shots. Following their game against Portland, Edwards highlighted the many open looks he had in the game and addressed the defensive strategy the Blazers used against him.

“Mike [Conley] be trying to tell me [to] get downhill, I’m like, ‘Bro, they going under’,” Edwards said. “I work on my game too much to try to force one downhill if they keep going under. I’mma keep shooting that.”

“I really be surprised at this point. I made two threes the first quarter today and in the third, they just — I made one and they kept going under. I’m like, ‘Alright, I’mma keep shooting this b****’ I don’t know what they doing, but I’mma keep shooting it.””I really be surprised at this point. When asked by a reporter if he has a different strategy in case defenses change their approach in guarding him, Edwards said:

“I’m happy. I hope they keep going under, I’mma keep lacing that b****.”

The shooting guard also made history against Portland, joining Golden State Warriors star Stephen Curry as the only player with the most threes through nine games. Edwards has made 50 shots from beyond the arc since the season started. With his outstanding year shooting the three, Edwards is also averaging a career-high in scoring, averaging 28.0 points.

Minnesota will play against the Miami Heat on Sunday to end their two-game home stand.

An Eastern Conference team is reportedly interested in trading for the Minnesota Timberwolves star

According to NBA insider Brett Siegel, the Miami Heat are interested in acquiring three All-Star players, including the Minnesota Timberwolves star. Siegel reported that the Heat named Edwards, Giannis Antetokounmpo and De’Aaron Fox.

Edwards had just started his five-year, $244.6 million deal with the Wolves. The franchise isn’t planning on trading the 2024 Olympic gold medalist.
