Indiana Pacers are trying to move on from Myles Turner who just signed with their rivals Milwaukee Bucks but it does not help that the 10-year veteran is making comments that appear polarizing to the team’s fan base.

Turner said during Milwaukee Bucks media day that he is glad to be with a team where he is appreciated.
“One thing I’m doing now is embracing change,” he said.
“Embracing this cool part of my career. I’m heading into my prime, 29 years old, going into my 11th season. I’m in a city now that wants to celebrate me… There’s a great quote that says, ‘Go where you’re celebrated.’ And I feel that’s here.”
The two-time NBA blocks leader played 10 season for the Pacers and was regarded as the anchor of the squad that reached the NBA finals last season.
Pacers fans brought receipts to express their disapproval of that quote.

Had a crowd of 18,000 people chanting your name during playoff games, and then you wanna sit here and say this, man? Smh I guess bro https://t.co/6GYXnpM807

That loud group of fans that were always hard on you won’t magically go away, but the decade of fans who rode for you every step of the way are getting alienated with every quote man https://t.co/bfUC181UNx
Myles Turner explains
Pacers fans are mad. Some are baffled with the way Turner explains his decision. They think he is deliberately making himself a villain to the Paces organization.
The 29-year-old center did not apologize for the quote but he did clarify that it has nothing to do with his previous employers and supporters.
“This quote has nothing to do with indy fans & everything to do with my free agency experience,” he wrote on his official X account.

Some users are still not convinced.
Bro you gotta let it go. You joined the Dark Side. To pacers fans you are darth Vader joining the Sith. You might as well embrace that and roll. You’re a villain now.
May the force be with you.#GoPacers

“a city NOW” = 👿
“another city” = 🙂
Plus “go where you’re celebrated” implies that wasn’t Indy. Stay where you’re celebrated sounds just as good, and that didn’t happen.
I’ll always support, but even I see some loaded phrasing.
Personally I just think you made an error.

Turner signed a four-year deal worth $108.9 million, a move that shocked the NBA world since they were just fresh from an NBA finals appearance. They were expected to run it back.
Pacers front office said they were ready to give him a huge offer, too, but they were not given the chance to negotiate.
