Natasha Cloud has always been louder than the box score. The Liberty guard has used her voice just as much as her jumper — and on Monday, she made another statement that went far beyond basketball.
She showed up at Zohran Mamdani’s rally in New York City, standing behind the Democratic mayoral hopeful and giving a speech that had the whole crowd listening.

“I refuse to accept a world where people are punished for seeking safety or silenced for speaking the truth,” Cloud said. “I refuse a system that values profit over people and power over love. And that is why I am so very proud to tell you that I stand with Zohran Mamdani.”

Cloud called Mamdani’s leadership “grounded in courage and compassion” and said he’s the kind of voice New York needs — one that sticks up for the working class and doesn’t shy away from calling things out.
She can’t vote in the city’s election — she’s from Pennsylvania — but that hasn’t stopped her from making an impact since joining the Liberty. She’s become one of the team’s leaders and a fan favorite in just her first year, starting 41 games and putting up 10.1 points, 3.7 rebounds, and 5.1 assists a night.

“It’s reckless of our president”: Natasha Cloud comes into Zohran Mamdani’s defense against Donald Trump
This isn’t the first time Natasha Cloud’s backed Mamdani. Over the summer, she went off after President Donald Trump called Mamdani a “lunatic” and mocked his voice and looks.

“It’s reckless of our president. It’s reckless of this administration, but it’s also exciting for us as the people,” Cloud said.
She meant every word.
For Cloud, speaking up isn’t about politics — it’s about people. And whether she’s running the point or running her mouth for the right reasons, she’s doing exactly what she’s always done: leading.
