Countless basketball players work day and night in the hopes of being called to the stage in the 2024 NBA Draft. Earning the right to become one of the few athletes around the world to play in the NBA is a dream that every cager has thought at one point in their lives.
Kyle Filipowski is one of the players who hoped his name would get called in the 2024 NBA Draft. The Duke standout had an impressive college career and would be a great addition for any team in need of a young and reliable big man.
However, the first round went by without hearing his name called. Neither Woj nor Shams mentioned his name getting selected by any of the teams with picks in the first round.
While this is a disappointing moment for the seven-footer, it’s more likely that he’ll hear his name in the second round.
Meanwhile, some fans couldn’t help but notice how stunning his girlfriend is.
Kyle Filipowski’s girlfriend takes the attention of fans watching the NBA Draft with her looks
Caitlin Hutchinson was in the green room with the Westtown, NY native during the entire draft process. She accompanied her man as the draft went by without his name being called.
The Spun’s Andrew Holleran‘s comment on Filipowski’s girl shows how stunning she looked that night:
The significant other of the future NBA Draft pick is likely going to see a huge bump in her Instagram followers on Wednesday night.
She’s not the first female loved one of an NBA prospect to garner attention from the public. Victor Wembanyama’s sister and Luka Doncic’s mom got social media buzzing with their good looks.
However, Hutchinson most probably didn’t care about the attention as she was busy consoling her man.
When will Kyle Filipowski hear his name in the 2024 NBA Draft?
While the Duke star was snubbed in the first round, it’s unlikely that the entire Draft will go by without him hearing his name.
The Ringer has him as the 35th-best player of the 2024 class, giving him a glowing review about his potential impact:
NBA coaches will love to use him in different actions because of his playmaking ability crossed with his quick decision-making. He can run the pick-and-roll or set hard screens then pop or roll. He is also already adept at running handoffs, so he could really thrive if surrounded by shooters. And as a hard-nosed defensive rebounder, he can start offensive possessions by bringing the ball up on his own.
Reliable post threat. He won’t get fed the ball in the NBA, but he can seal off a defender inside and score using drop steps and hook shots. Against switching defenses, his handle allows him to dribble from the perimeter into the post.
All Kyle needs to do is sit and wait with his family before he finally hears his name called to the big leagues.
