The NBA has seen a lot of fashion statements and then banned them when they found it violating some marketing rule or endangering other players. This side story of the league has been silent in the past years but Jalen Suggs just broke it after his signature and unusual style gets banned.

A headband should be worn on the top of the head but the Orlando Magic guard wears it on his neck, like a chocker. This caught some attention back in November and now, the NBA’s fashion police decided that it should not be worn like that.

The decision was made known during the broadcast of Magic’s game against the Bulls. USA Today Sports wrote:
During the television broadcast of Orlando’s game against the Chicago Bulls on Friday, it was explained that the NBA told Suggs he begin the game with the headband situated where it was initially intended – and not as a choker around his neck.
Suggs has been doing this since he was with Gonzaga.
Why Jalen Suggs wear it like that?
Media first took notice of Suggs’ uncanny way of wearing headband back in November and he has a simple explanation for it.
“Really, it originates as football drip, that’s where it stems from,” Suggs told Jason Beede of the Orlando Sentinel.

“I don’t know, there really isn’t much else to it. I wear it on my neck, and once I get into the game, into the flow, I put it on my head, and we rock.”
He also played it down and that it should not get attention at all.
