NBA fans have turned a wholesome family full-circle moment for LeBron James into a bit of a joke fest.
Wednesday night saw the Cleveland Cavaliers demolish the LA Lakers, but that wasn’t the storyline that flooded the news feeds.
20 years ago, LeBron had his mother, Gloria, watch him play from courtside while she carried a young Bronny James, who was sitting on her lap.
Fast forward to 2026, Gloria witnessed her 41-year-old son and 21-year-old grandson play on the same NBA team.
For some people, that was enough. For others, it apparently wasn’t.

@CLEBrownsfan84 said, “She technically got to see her Son, Grandson, and Boyfriend (Delonte West) all play in the NBA during her lifetime.”

@santiyayo_ added, “I can’t believe it’s happening.”
Meanwhile, @ballknower300 was on the James family’s side, saying, “Idc about bronny skill level, this is amazing.”
On the court, LeBron and Bronny combined for 19 points. LeBron finished with 11, Bronny chipped in 8. But for a lot of fans, the numbers weren’t the point. Seeing them both out there, in the same city that once crowned LeBron as King, was the moment.
“Father time really said not today”: NBA fans react to LeBron James’ milestone achievement in Cleveland
Cleveland has seen LeBron James turn his dreams into reality, and on Wednesday night, not only does the world see him and his son play in the city he brought a championship to, but he also becomes the first player in NBA history to log the most career minutes.

Despite their loss to the Cavaliers, James made history by logging a total of 60,000 career regular-season minutes by the end of the game, making him the only player in NBA history to prove that age is just a number.
That part didn’t go unnoticed.
@emex2rhyme said, “60k minutes at 41… father time really said not today huh.”
@FightRoomHQ added, “People really underrate how durable he’s been.”
@Julietegot joked, “It feels like he could break a record even with just a casual warm up.”
LeBron only needed 24 minutes to reach the mark. He ended up playing 27. It wasn’t planned as a moment, but it became one anyway.

Between the family angle and another milestone added to an already ridiculous résumé, the night in Cleveland ended up being about more than the score — even if not everyone chose to see it that way.
