NBA Fans went political this Tuesday after a X/Twitter post of Steve Kerr’s post-game speech went viral. In the clip, the star coach claimed that ICE, America’s infamous immigration agency, was kidnapping “five-year-olds,” or basically, children. Fans soon found Kerr’s statements unconvincing and immediately threw shade at him.
User @IanJaeger29 didn’t hold back and wasn’t shocked at Kerr at all, boldlywriting, “Not a surprise, Steve Kerr has a history of left-wing propaganda talking points during his press conferences.”
Whether NBA Fans accuse the GS Warriors coach of leaning on one side or being too polarizing, they clearly don’t like his statements.
And of course, Kerr’s statement caused NBA Fans to give insight, with some attacking what many see as where Kerr lands, the Liberal side.

“He is an idiot,” one user posted.
“What is he talking about? Doesn’t he have Google or does he have his talking points fed to him?” one user remarked.
“I never go to Hollywood celebrities or Sports coaches for informed political opinions. I’ve liked the players on the Warriors for a long time, but their coach makes me like the Warriors quite a bit less,” one user wrote.
NBA Fans knew how outspoken Kerr on a lot of his speeches, but Fans saw a change where Kerr began criticizing the government in the previous months. And Trump’s second presidency helped nothing to stop Kerr from his antics.
Trump’s fierce policies against illegal immigrants, made possible by ICE, just made things worse, as not only this made NBA Fans more divided than ever. Fans were arguing to the death across platforms, with some supporting the POTUS’ campaigns, while others raise how ICE’s actions sometimes crossed the line.
NBA Fans disappointed on League amidst Politics
On the other hand, NBA Fans aren’t shocked anymore when stars like Kerr speak about politics after games. After all, Fans claim to feel that the league overall has become too polarized in the past years.
User @Ovomember just wrote, “Woke state. Woke organization. Woke team. Woke players. Woke coach. This is very much on brand for him.”
Meanwhile, user @TerryMu97456187 was just disappointed at the league, commenting, “The NBA should be dismantled within five years.”
While NBA Fans clearly saw how the league has changed, some couldn’t help but feel that the league shouldn’t be too involved in America’s politics, even if some Fans have indeed felt how things in the nation have became more intense.
