NBA fans threw shade at the recent news of Lakers stars Austin Reaves and Luka Doncic being present during the recent G League game of Lakers’ sophomore Bronny James.
Over at social media platform X, NBA fans discussed the significance of Luka Doncic and Austin Reaves being present at a recent South Bay Lakers game with Bronny James. For one fan, the two stars were tehre for one entirely different reason other than support.

Another fan doubled down on the humor and said that Doncic and Reaves were “pretending.”
“What’s hilarious is they know he’s ass but they gotta play it off,” the fan said.
Recently, former NBA guard Jeff Teague publicly questioned the Los Angeles Lakers’ roster move that sent 2024 first-round pick Dalton Knecht to the G League while keeping second-round pick Bronny James on the NBA roster, calling the decision “no hate” but puzzling given draft status and playing time differences.
Teague raised the issue on his podcast after the Lakers announced the demotion following their game against the Phoenix Suns, framing the move as surprising for a player taken in the first round.
“I have a real question, and this is no hate: Why he in the G and Bronny not in the G?” Teague said during the Club 502 Podcast. “What are we doin’ gang? No, it ain’t no hate. Like, I don’t care that he’s playing in the G League. I’m saying he was a first-round pick. And now, if he wanted to go to the G League because he wanted some reps, that’s different. If he requested to go to the G League, we don’t know.”
Bronny, who has also spent time with South Bay this season and was later recalled, has seen limited NBA minutes since returning, a contrast Teague used to underscore his point about roster priorities and player opportunity.
NBA Fans Blast Bronny James’ Return to G-League
Over at X, NBA fans blasted Bronny James in his return to the G League with the South Bay Lakers. However, one fan in particular stood up for the young James and highlighted how most people on social media won’t even stand a chance to the young player.
The fan said: “Bronny would cook everyone in this comment section..sounds like alot of high school graduates and that’s it no D1 ball…no G league.. Def no NBA..damn sure not nobody who generated the LA Lakers 50 million in Jersey sales..”
The Los Angeles Lakers currently stand 3rd in the Western Conference, and NBA fans are excited to see how stars like Doncic and Reaves would further elevate the franchise to the playoffs.
