NBA Fans had a field day after the Los Angeles Clippers went through one of the roughest travel days of the season. Right after releasing Chris Paul, the team found themselves stuck at the Miami airport for nearly six hours because of a mechanical issue. Once the news came out, NBA Fans turned the moment into a running joke.
Reporter @ChrisBHaynes broke the story, posting, “Sources: Clippers were stuck at Miami airport yesterday for nearly 6 hours due to mechanical issues, which significantly delayed team’s arrival to ATL. A long travel day following another bad loss ended with teammates finding out in middle of night of Chris Paul’s departure.”

That alone was enough to get NBA Fans talking, but the replies took the whole thing to another level.
@CactusSunnnn went straight for the drama with, “Lmfaoooooo basketball gods making sure they suffer and get karma for what they did to cp3” [laughing emoji].
Another fan, @APH00PS, added a breakdown of the situation that NBA Fans kept quoting: “Waiting 6 hours until the flight is ready, flying from Miami to Atlanta, arriving in Atlanta, and THEN telling CP3 ‘Hey, you can go home’ after you land ~9 hours later is nuts lmao.”
The timing made everything worse for the Clippers and better for NBA Fans eager to poke fun. The team was already coming off a bad loss, and the long delay only added more weight to a day filled with frustration. It isn’t just a random travel problem. It felt like the universe reminding the Clippers how strange their season has been.
If you think the airport situation was bad, the Clippers were already reeling from a loss before that incident, and the NBA Fans just would not let them forget it.
NBA Fans Roast Clippers Again After Blowout Loss Before Airport Meltdown
Before the airport chaos even started, the Clippers were already dealing with another problem. They had just taken a rough loss to the Miami Heat, and NBA Fans were on them instantly. The official account @LAClippers posted “Final.” with a graphic showing their 123–140 loss, and that alone was enough fuel for the day.

Right under that post, @213clipset wrote, “Another game closer to giving OKC a t3 pick and ruining the league.”

NBA Fans shared the line everywhere since it summed up the mood in one punch. People were annoyed, amused, and confused all at the same time.
But the most ruthless reaction came from @GoatBucketz7, who posted, “Ion care what that final score reads yall got BELTED to the point yall star players got benched and Harden never came back [skull emoji][sleeping emoji]” while sharing a clip of someone smacking a brick wall with a belt.
NBA Fans treated that clip like a highlight on its own.
The loss itself mattered less than the timing. After dropping a game by that margin, the team had to deal with the late-night travel delay, the long airport wait, and the news of Chris Paul walking out of the picture. NBA Fans connected all of it and made the entire situation feel like a long comedy skit.
For a fanbase that always finds a way to joke through disaster, this was a perfect storm. The Clippers took a heavy loss, then endured a brutal travel schedule, and NBA Fans turned every moment into a trending story.
