NBA Fans wasted no time dropping jokes the moment the latest Clippers rumor hit the timeline.
After @TheDunkCentral posted, “The Clippers are showing interest in DeMar DeRozan,” the replies filled up with punchlines faster than a fast break.
The loudest one came from @Dashytwo, who replied, “Adding to the retirement home.” Another fan, @NBAndChill, added, “Clippers running a retirement home so makes complete sense tbh.”

The Clippers are showing interest in DeMar DeRozan, per @sam_amick
“DeMar DeRozan, the 36-year-old who league sources say has some interest from the LA Clippers, has a partial guarantee on his deal for next season (approximately $10 million of his $25.7 million). Malik Monk,… pic.twitter.com/UrSWnpWetr

The Clippers have been linked to veteran names for years, so NBA Fans instantly saw this as another move that fits the same pattern. DeRozan may still be productive, but at 36 by the end of the next season, he carries the tag that the Clippers can’t seem to escape. It also doesn’t help that Paul George already left and James Harden is now the main veteran star left with Kawhi Leonard.
The idea of adding DeRozan on top of that made NBA Fans wonder if the team is trying to extend its window or stretch it past its limit.
The Clippers’ current build isn’t just about collecting older players; it also shows how far the team is from its dream of winning a title. With age comes experience. And experience helps with stability. Perhaps a Clippers championship run is far from happening this season. But at the very least, they need to point their trajectory upwards.
Rumor or perhaps a prologue to what may yet become fact, fact of the matter is that the eagle eyed NBA fans are quick to connect the dots and are just as quick to dot the facts with a little bit of banter.
Clippers Lose to Cavs as NBA Fans Ask if It’s Time for a Change
The Clippers’ latest loss gave NBA Fans another reason to be loud online. The team fell 105-120 to the Cleveland Cavaliers last Sunday, November 23rd, 2025, and the reaction came fast the moment the official account posted the final result.

The Clippers page simply wrote, “Final.” along with the match poster, but the replies spoke for everyone who watched.

“This another game that was hard to watch,” @WeDealInBud said, summing up the mood after Cleveland pulled away in the second half. The defense struggled, the offense looked out of rhythm, and the energy felt flat. NBA Fans added more to the noise when @LALFANNERD chimed in saying, “Time to change your name… to the flippers!!!!”
The Cavs exploited the slow rotations and found early looks, and by the time the Clippers tried to respond, the game was already slipping away. NBA Fans noticed how little spark the team showed and pointed out how often this pattern happens.
The Clippers need some signs of upward movement ASAP as the NBA fans are turning impatient. Sure, funny moments can always come from losses, but humor can only cover up so much. Perhaps a shift in the roster could change the mood, but all are just rumors for now.
