NBA fans are reacting to rumors going around that the Mavs might soon trade D’Angelo Russell, after the veteran has not proved himself this season. Russell joined Dallas for this fresh season but has only managed an unimpressive 11.9 average.

Fans are having a range of reactions to these new reports, with many calling out the team for not listening to critics who warned them about Russell in the first place. While Russell is a former All-Star, the player has been underperforming over the last few seasons.

“The Dallas Mavericks are open to trading former All-Star D’Angelo Russell, per @DALHoopsJournal” NBA Central tweeted.

“Lakers fans tried to warn them, but they said no he’s going to be great. Man just dribbling out there doing nothing but waste time (laughing with tears emoji)” one fan trolled Russell.

“I’m not sure why the Mavericks would want to trade a guy like Russell who dribbles the ball for 21 seconds of the 24-second shot clock.” Another fan sarcastically noted.

“Oh honey, the Mavs are ‘open’ to trading D’Angelo Russell? That’s not news, that’s the polite way of screaming ‘please take this man off our payroll before he remembers how to shoot.’ (laughing with tears emoji)” one more fan joked.

NBA Fans Feel Mavs Roster Needs A Complete Overhaul

Many NBA fans also felt that this latest rumor that the Mavs are hoping to trade out D’Angelo Russell is a sign that the team wants to change up their entire roster. Dallas as a team has been hardly performing this season and fans are hoping that the team does something soon before time runs out.

“This signals the Mavericks might be ready for a serious roster reboot rather than just tweaks” one fan stated.

“Breaking: The Dallas Mavericks are open to trading every single player on roster other than Cooper Flagg.” Another fan pointed out, hailing the incredibly talented rookie who is the only saving grace of the team right now.

“They’re blowing the whole team up…They’re basically starting the Luka era again, but this time with Flagg..” another fan echoed.

The Mavs have clearly crumbled after the exit of Luka Doncic, with his replacement, Anthony Davis, hardly making a dent on their record this season. In this ongoing campaign, Dallas has created waves with major overhauls and decisions, starting with Nico Harrison being fired for his stupid decisions in terms of the Doncic-Davis trade.
