NBA fans recently reacted to a hypothetical question that proposed a choice between a huge amount of money and the chance to date a popular female sports reporter.
Over at social media platform X, NBA fans shared their thoughts on one question that was posed by one account. The post asked if fans would rather choose to have $100,000 worth of money, or to be able to date former Turner Sports and “Thursday Night Football” reporter Taylor Rooks.
One fan pondered on the question, but had a third option in their mind.

“Question, does she clear Malika Andrews?” the fan asked.
question. does she clear Malika Andrews?

Malika Andrews is another popular and widely-liked female sports reporter. She reports for ESPN and appears on NBA Today and NBA Countdown. While most fans picked Andrews over Rooks, another fan placed them on nearly equal footing.
“I think it’s really close,” the fan said. “They both nines to me. All the way up there. [Two] extremely Beautiful black women.”
Recently, former NBA star John Wall drew attention during his studio debut on Amazon Prime Video’s NBA coverage when cameras repeatedly caught him watching host Taylor Rooks, even when she wasn’t speaking. The moment followed a lighthearted segment in which Rooks prompted Wall to do a dance he famously performed as a rookie.
The appearance marked another step in Wall’s post-playing career. The five‑time All‑Star, who announced his retirement in August 2025 after an 11‑year NBA career, has moved into broadcasting as a player contributor for the league’s new Prime Video studio shows, where his on‑air chemistry and moments like the Rooks interaction have generated buzz.
Rooks, meanwhile, has had a busy year off the court: she left Turner Sports to become the lead studio host for Amazon’s NBA coverage and also works as a sideline reporter for Thursday Night Football.
NBA Fans Picks $100K Over Taylor Rooks Date in Fun Question
Over at X, NBA fans got honest with their priorities when asked to choose between getting $100,000 or dating reporter Taylor Rooks. While some answered for the date, a lot of fans got practical and picked the cash instead.

“Anyone who would pay $100K for a date should probably be put in prison,” one fan said.

Another fan went deeper and got more strategic with their choice.
“$100k invested in the stock market for 30 years, and I’m a millionaire with no headaches,” they said.
NBA fans, however, know that discussions like these are all in good fun, as Taylor Rooks got married following a private relationship earlier this year.
