NBA fans reacted to a hot take by one rapper that placed Steph Curry over Chicago Bulls legend Michael Jordan in one category that some fans felt was not even a proper matchup.
Over at social media platform X, a video clip went viral, which showed rapper and streamer DDG talking to Jaylen Brown, and discussing the topic of the best point guard of all time in the league. DDG, during the conversation, ranked Michael Jordan as the top name, with Steph Curry next. This take, however, did not sit well with NBA fans.

“MJ not even a point guard, bro, c’mon,” the fan said.

Michael Jordan is most remembered for being an all-time great shooting guard, but he also played small forward and occasionally served as a primary ball handler or point guard during his time in the NBA. Jordan relied upon a combination of perimeter shooting, driving to the basket, and aggressive defense in order to lead the Chicago Bulls backcourt through six NBA titles and numerous scoring championships.
There were moments when coaches chose to move him away from being a shooting guard and into the frontcourt as a small forward to take advantage of opposing defenses’ weaknesses and give himself more flexibility with his teammates based on how the roster was put together at the time.
On the other hand, Curry has always been a point guard, with some fans and analysts even considering him as someone who redefined how the role is played in the league.
NBA Fans Argue Over Steph Curry vs Michael Jordan Comparison
Over at X, fans carried on with the conversation sparked by rapper DDG’s take: that Steph Curry is above Michael Jordan as the all-time best point guard in the history of the NBA. For some fans, those who lived to witness Jordan’s career and went on to witness Curry’s rise to stardom know what the real deal is.

“I’m just going to let this Generation Z have their say on who the best PG of all time is,” one fan said. “But those of us who are Generation X already know who it is.”

For one fan, giving basketball analysis such as listing all-time greats should ot be done by younger fans or those who have not watched enough generations of the league unfold in front of them.
Michael Jordan has long since retired from the league, but NBA fans are still witnessing Steph Curry in his 17th season in the league.
