NBA fans are drawing comparisons between LeBron James and Cooper Flagg, after the latter beat the veteran’s record recently by scoring the most points in a game by an 18-year-old. Flagg managed this a day earlier during the Jazz game, where he dunked 42 for the Mavs.

While the Mavs ended up losing to Utah, Flagg’s record was the biggest highlight of the matchup. Meanwhile, fans have been bringing up James’ name into the conversation, with many speculating as to how the legend would have played had he entered the league in this very season, just like Cooper Flagg.

    “Most points in a game by an 18 year old: 42- Cooper Flagg (tonight), 37 – LeBron James, 36 – LeBron James, 35 – Cooper Flagg, 34- LeBron James, 33 – LeBron James, 32 – LeBron James, 32 – LeBron James, 29 – Cooper Flagg, 28 – LeBron James,” Maverick_SZN tweeted.

“Not to hate on coop but, imagine rookie bron in today’s spacing and scoring, Bron was doing this in the deadball era without a super reliable jumpshot,” one fan noted.

“Cooper Flagg already trading records with prime teenager Bron is actually insane. This list basically says ‘future face of the league’ in advance. You buying more stock in Flagg long term or still thin nobody’s touching LeBron’s full career (seeing emoji, basketball emoji)” one more fan wondered.

“Cooper is the current favorite to defeat Lebron’s all-time scoring record. He just needs to stay healthy and motivated for about 23-25 more years,” another fan said.

NBA Fans Continue To Praise LeBron James As GOAT

Many NBA fans still continue to hail LeBron James as the GOAT in the league and feel that the player’s stats cannot be beaten by Cooper Flagg or anyone else for that matter. James’ legacy in the league seems to be going pretty strong, even if the player’s retirement is right round the corner.

“he must of drank out of Lebron’s water bottle at the last Olympics,” one fan spoke about Cooper Flagg.

“That LeBron guy seems pretty good,” one more fan joked.

Cooper Flagg is perhaps the only saving grace of the Mavs at this point, and reports are coming in that the youngster might win Rookie of the Year. Flagg seems to be thriving, despite being placed in a team filled with so much drama.
