NBA fans are not missing the opportunity to take shots at Delonte West after TMZ reported that the former baller was arrested for stealing a measly amount of $23 from an unidentified individual on the street.
West was later released on a bond and will be appearing in court later in March. This is not the first time that West has gotten into trouble with the law, with the retired hooper being arrested a number of times, including twice back in ’24. Fans have been hilariously mocking West, while many have been expressing serious concerns for his mental health.
“When cops arrived on the scene, they learned the individual in question didn’t get far. The caller pointed out the man across the street as the one they were looking for. It turned out to be West, whom officials in the area have unfortunately become familiar with over the years. We’re told he was taken into custody without further incident, and he was released on a $1,000 recognizance bond. They say the total amount taken from the victim was around $23. He’s due back in court in March.” TMZ reported as shared by NBA Central.

Many NBA fans are clearly shocked and surprised with Delonte West being arrested for stealing $23 from a stranger, especially since it was reported that the retired hooper was apparently seeking professional help for his mental health sometime back.

“Yes, this is wrong, but also said to see for anyone who has been generally following Delonte’s life. He’s had nasty mental health and addiction issues. There was also a previous arrest a few months ago because he was intoxicated in public, but I thought that he got clean again…” one fan added.
It seems like many people have tried to get Delonte West some help, but the man seems to be repeatedly going back to using drugs and getting intoxicated. Many fans continue to sympathize with the basketball legend and hope that he makes a complete recovery soon.
