Reggie Miller gave NBA fans something new to argue about after sharing his thoughts on Derrick Rose and where his career should ultimately land.
During an appearance on The Dan Patrick Show, Miller didn’t hesitate when the topic came up. Fresh off Rose’s jersey retirement at the United Center — following the Bulls’ 106–103 win over the Boston Celtics — Miller said he believes Rose belongs in the Hall of Fame.
“For a 6-8 year stretch, him and LeBron were battling for who was the best player in the game,” said Miller.
lol wtf. He was never battling LeBron for the best in the game, LeBron cleared him every single season

That statement didn’t sit the same way with everyone.
Despite Miller being a Hall of Famer himself, fans quickly pushed back, especially when it came to comparing Rose and LeBron James during their primes.
@Klutch_23 said, “lol wtf. He was never battling LeBron for the best in the game, LeBron cleared him every single season.”
@IamJerm24 added, “6-8 years is a stretch to even say when DRose prime was only like 2-3 years lol.”
Others tried to slow the conversation down a bit.
@LWLSSofficial offered something to consider, saying, “The basketball HOF is a different conversation, it is not solely based on one’s pro career like the NFL/MLB, the basketball HOF considers your whole body of work from HS up.”
Rose’s career is still complicated to talk about. He was the No. 1 overall pick in the 2008 NBA Draft, won Rookie of the Year, and later became the youngest MVP in league history in 2011. An ACL tear in the 2012 playoffs changed everything after that. What never came, though, was an NBA championship ring.

“Dennis Rodman also deserves recognition”: NBA fans debate on Derrick Rose’s jersey being retired
The Hall of Fame debate wasn’t the only thing fans disagreed on.
Jersey retirements mean something different to different people, and Rose’s number going up in the rafters brought mixed reactions. His jersey now sits alongside Bulls legends like Jerry Sloan, Bob Love, Scottie Pippen, and Michael Jordan.
@BF3960265415420 wasn’t convinced, saying, “Rose good but retiring his jersey is excessive. No rings.”
@SalahAlawadhi shifted the focus elsewhere, adding, “Dennis Rodman also deserves recognition for what he gave on the court.”
NBA fans took it more emotionally.
@fore_gate said, “Emotional night for D Rose – forever a Bulls legend.”
Between Hall of Fame talk and jersey retirement debates, Derrick Rose’s legacy continues to spark conversations — and it doesn’t look like those arguments are settling anytime soon.
