NBA fans are anticipating a move for Ja Morant to the Minnesota Timberwolves after reports from Jon Kwacznski mentioned that the Timberwolves have checked in on Morant as his relationship with Memphis gets sour.
Earlier this month, the Grizzlies suspended Morant after he criticized his team’s leadership and effort following a loss to the Los Angeles Lakers — comments that didn’t sit well with the front office.
With tension rising in Memphis, word spread that the Timberwolves might be exploring a way to bring Morant to Minnesota to pair him up with Anthony Edwards. But not everyone thinks that’s a great idea.

One fan joked, “Ja and Ant playing together would feed families and ruin them as well.”

Another said, “The league isn’t ready for this duo.”
A third added, “Wolves really trying to build the most ignorant duo in league history.”
Right now, there’s no indication that a trade is close, but even the hint of it has sparked heavy debate among fans — and not just in Memphis.
So far, it’s still unclear whether the Wolves will snap up Morant in his lowest point with the Grizzlies, but it surely stirred up the conversation amongst the fans.
“People just over exaggerating”: NBA fans see reason behind Ja Morant staying put in Memphis
While the online chatter keeps growing, plenty of fans in Memphis aren’t buying the idea of moving on from Morant. Many believe the young star still deserves another shot with the team that drafted him.
A local fan page reminded followers that Morant has stuck by Memphis through tough stretches, arguing it makes little sense to trade him now.

One fan wrote, “To be honest there is no point in trading him, once the team is fully healthy it will be a totally different team + plus the addition of two potential really solid lottery picks in a stacked draft. People just over exaggerating.”

Another commented, “Fake fans fr, most of em not even from Memphis.”
A third added, “I think it’s just because this team set such high standards in 2022, and every year it’s just gotten worse and worse, not saying we should trade him, but I can see why people are so upset.”
For now, Morant’s future remains up in the air. But if there’s one thing certain, it’s that his name will keep popping up until the Grizzlies — or the Wolves — finally make a move.
