A couple of weeks after the LA Clippers moved on from Chris Paul, Kawhi Leonard finally spoke about the situation — and NBA fans weren’t exactly convinced by what they heard.
After Monday’s practice, Leonard was asked about CP3’s exit. Instead of addressing the decision directly, he focused on their relationship and made it clear he wasn’t involved.

“Only thing I could talk about is our conversations. And they’ve always been positive and team-forward,” Leonard said. “I didn’t have nothing to do with it. I didn’t even know what was going on.”
“I didn’t have nothing to do with it” is literally what someone that had something to do with it would say 😭

That response didn’t calm anything down. If anything, it poured gas on the fire.
Fans immediately zeroed in on the wording, especially the part where Leonard denied involvement without being accused. The clip made the rounds fast, and the reactions followed.
@mbamjv called it out: “‘I didn’t have nothing to do with it’ is literally what someone that had something to do with it would say.”
@AytonGotNext kept it simple: “buddy was the reason cp is gone.”
@ynot_mal pointed out the obvious: “No one asked if he had anything to do with it.”
Leonard saying he didn’t know what was happening isn’t totally shocking. He’s appeared in just 15 games this season and has spent most of the year off the floor. Still, with Chris Paul gone, fans expect Leonard to be more present — especially with the Clippers spiraling.
“All because they let Kawhi do whatever he wants”: Clippers catch heat from NBA fans after canceled practice
The criticism only grew louder after another decision raised eyebrows.

Ahead of Monday’s game against the Memphis Grizzlies, head coach Ty Lue revealed the Clippers canceled Sunday’s practice and held a film session instead. According to beat writer Joey Linn, some players weren’t available, though Lue wouldn’t say who.
“I can’t say. I don’t think I can say that,” Lue said.
That explanation didn’t calm anyone down.
@RCritic20 blasted the organization: “This has got to be the biggest joke of an organization in the NBA. All because they let Kawhi punk them & do whatever he wants to keep him happy. Should have traded him years ago. Such a disaster.”

@ClippersRoom kept it short: “The. Most. Unserious. Franchise. Ever.”
At 6–19 and sitting 13th in the West, the Clippers already look lost. With Chris Paul gone and Kawhi Leonard once again at the center of the noise — deserved or not — fans are bracing for another long, uncomfortable season in Los Angeles.
