Draymond Green has once again fired up NBA fans with his latest take on where he stands defensively.
On his podcast, The Draymond Green Show, the Golden State Warriors forward reflected on entering his 14th year in the league — and made it clear he still sees himself at the top defensively.

Draymond Green thinks he is still the best defender in the NBA
“I feel like defensively right now, I can see everything in slow motion…I still think I’m the best.”

“I feel like defensively right now, I can see everything in slow motion… I still think I’m the best,” Green said.
That comment instantly sent NBA fans into a frenzy. Social media lit up with playful jabs and sarcastic replies aimed at the four-time champion.
One fan wrote, “Wemby has more blocks than the entire Warriors team.”
Another added, “The only thing he’s the best at is getting called for flagrant fouls.”
And another chimed in, “Draymond also moves in slow motion.”
Numbers don’t exactly back him up this time. So far this season, Victor Wembanyama—who’s often mentioned alongside Green for his defensive instincts—has been putting up absurd stats: 31 points, 13.8 rebounds, 1.5 steals, and 4.8 blocks per game. Green, on the other hand, is averaging 10 points, 5.5 rebounds, 0.5 steals, and 0.8 blocks through five games for Golden State.
“It’s Like I’m Watching the Greatest Dikembe Mutombo”: NBA Fans Hype Up Wemby’s Defense
While Draymond’s talking, Wembanyama’s proving. A clip of the Spurs phenom went viral this week after he blocked two straight shots, then stepped out and drained a near-logo three. It was pure dominance — and NBA fans lost it in the comments.

One wrote, “It’s like I’m watching the greatest Dikembe Mutombo defensive play then all of a sudden it’s a Steph Curry 3 he’s bombing in a single highlight. I’ve never seen a player like this.”

Another said, “Again, y’all not ready this season yet…. Wemby is def going to have a blast, triple doubles and since his handling game upped too, y’all watch for highlights and ankle breakers.”
A third kept it simple: “Bro is a cheat code.”
After a rough, injury-hit rookie year, Wemby’s back and healthy — and the Spurs’ 4-0 start says everything.
