Kevin Durant and social media have always gone hand in hand. So when he was asked at NBA All-Star Media Day whether he’d give up Twitter or video games forever, NBA fans knew the answer wouldn’t be boring.
Durant didn’t disappoint.
“Twitter because they don’t deserve to hear this god-level like talk I’m giving to them,” said KD. “They’re taking it for granted.”
Kevin Durant asked if he would give up Twitter or video games for the rest of his life:
“Twitter because they don’t deserve to hear this god level like talk I’m giving to them. They’re taking it for granted.” (laughing emojis x3)

The line got laughs in the room, and once the clip hit social media, NBA fans went straight to work.
@real_manguy said, “ ‘God level talk’ but arguing in the replies at 2AM…. If it’s divine wisdom, why you fighting mortals in the comments every week?”
@FraudFond added, “@KDTrey5 plz quit twitter on God we tired of hearing you whine all the time.”
Others weren’t ready to lose the entertainment value. @annango_ posted, “Lowkey why I stay on X. Troll game strong.”

That’s the split with Durant. Some want him off the app. Others admit the back-and-forth is part of the fun. Either way, NBA fans keep reacting every time he types.
“Is his thumb okay?”: NBA fans poke fun at Kevin Durant before All-Star Game
If anyone thought he might actually log off, his arrival at the arena suggested otherwise.
Before his 14th NBA All-Star start, cameras caught Durant walking into the Intuit Dome in Los Angeles focused on his phone, scrolling as he headed inside. NBA fans noticed immediately.

@roninSam asked, “Is his thumb okay? That’s a lot of scrolling for a game day.”
@BovadaOfficial wrote, “He was messaging Shams to tell him he sucks.”
And @WyaG23 added, “Ever since his burner account got exposed he ain’t look off his phone at all.”
The burner account storyline has followed Durant during the NBA All-Star Game, with allegations claiming he used alternate profiles to fire back at critics and comment on teammates. There’s no confirmation tied to that chatter as of yet, but it hasn’t stopped NBA fans from bringing it up.
Durant might joke about quitting Twitter, but as long as he’s scrolling — and occasionally replying — NBA fans will be right there waiting for the next post.
