LaVar Ball never misses when it comes to keeping NBA fans entertained with his wild takes. Whether it’s hyping up his sons or claiming he could take down the game’s legends, the Ball family patriarch always finds a way to make headlines.
Earlier this year, LaVar had his right foot amputated due to a “serious medical issue.” But even that hasn’t slowed down his confidence. On Tuesday, he doubled down on one of his most infamous boasts — saying he could beat Michael Jordan one-on-one.

“You know I can,” Ball said when asked if the challenge still stands. “All day, every day. I’ll take it off so it’ll be even.”
Fans immediately ate it up online, flooding social media with jokes.
One wrote,
“we need this man back on tv.”
“Lavar can be blind and he’ll still beat Jordan. He gave up his sight so Jordan can see better.”

“this man never stops being entertaining.”
Whether they’re laughing with him or at him, fans agreed on one thing: never change, LaVar.
NBA Fans are raving over Lonzo Ball’s Media Day sneakers
While LaVar kept people laughing, Lonzo Ball gave sneakerheads something serious to talk about at Cleveland Cavaliers Media Day.
Lonzo showed up rocking the Nike Kobe 5 “Aston Martin,” a classic pair originally released in 2010 as a nod to Kobe Bryant’s viral video where he jumped over a moving Aston Martin DB9 Volante.
The throwback choice drew quick praise online.

One fan said,
“Fire.”

“Boy looks too clean 🔥🔥 that’s Kyrie’s jersey tho he better put on.”

Health has been Lonzo’s biggest hurdle since entering the league in 2017 — he’s only topped 52 games in a season three times. But now with a fresh start in Cleveland, the 2025-26 campaign could be his best chance to put the injuries and “what-ifs” behind him finally.
