NBA fans were laughing their hearts out after more details emerged on why Chris Paul was waived by the Los Angeles Clippers.
According to Ramona Shelburne, tension began when Paul led the second unit, which “routinely” beat the starters.
“The team envisioned Paul’s role as an end-of-the-bench, veteran leader who needed little maintenance, sources said… ‘We were kicking their a**,’ forward John Collins recently told ESPN. Every day, we were kicking [the starters’] a**.”

Fans couldn’t believe the Clippers would move on from Paul despite his competitiveness.
@pawellwitt quipped, “Winning is something that Clippers simply do not tolerate.”

@PlayoffLucro added, “Chris is a competitor and wanted to win doesn’t fit with clippers culture lmao.”
And @dakizzler488117 asked, “So CP3 is working his ass off to make the team better and gets sent home?”
Paul appeared in just 16 games before management decided to waive him mid–farewell tour, claiming he didn’t fit the team’s ideals
“How do you even come up with this stuff?”: NBA fans marvel at parody account’s hilarious take on Chris Paul’s exit
NBACentel, a popular parody account, offered a hilarious spin on Paul’s departure.
According to their post, Paul threatened to reveal “the exact location” of trees planted during a heated exchange with Kawhi Leonard—hinting at a bizarre scheme involving a global tree-planting company used to skirt the salary cap.

Fans loved the creativity.

@kungfukenn_eth praised the drama: “This is probably the best one out of all the drama. Thanks Centel.”
And @Glitchymagic admitted they thought it was real: “CP3 threatening to expose the Clippers’ tree-planting secrets is peak pettiness. What were they.”
The parody tied back to September allegations that Kawhi Leonard received $28 million through Steve Ballmer’s company, Aspiration, to pad his contract and bypass cap restrictions.
