NBA fans are reacting to the New York Knicks winning the NBA Cup against the Spurs a few hours back. The win was definitely sweet for the Knicks, who managed to win their first trophy in more than fifty years.
The Knicks winning the contest came as a surprise for many fans, who definitely had jokes on the team and the win itself. The odds were stacked in favor of the Spurs, who have been killing it this season, but NY managed to dominate in a fantastic manner.

“The New York Knicks just won their first trophy in 52 years.” Legion Hoops tweeted.
“FIFTY TWO YEARS?!?!?!? And its an in season tournament (crying emoji x 6)” one fan reacted.
“NBA CUP CHAMPIONS (laughing with tears emoji) poor NY they’ll probably never hear AND THE NEW YORK KNICKS ARE NBA CHAMPIONS,” another fan trolled.
“fake ahh trophy lmao, NBA Cup is such a flop and everybody knows it but won’t admit it (crying emoji) Congratulations to the New York Knicks for winning the Clown cup!” one more fan said.
NBA Fans Roast NY Knicks After NBA Cup Win, Predicting NBA Defeat
Many NBA fans have been joking that the NY Knicks might have won the NBA Cup, but will nowhere be close to winning the championship in itself, otherwise known as the NBA curse. Still, it looks like the team is pretty happy to get a trophy, nevertheless.

“NY = Next year. This isn’t an NBA Championship” one fan trolled.
“Yall acting like they won a real chip (laughing with tears emoji x2)” one more fan said.
“Some say that the NBA Cup is worth more than 5 NBA Finals titles” another fan sarcastically stated.
It is true that the Knicks have hardly come close to winning a championship for a long time. It is understandable as to why fans of the franchise are happy with the Knicks right now, even if they may not have won the actual championship.
The Knicks looked like they were lagging behind in the first quarter but soon caught up and managed to climb over the Spurs in the last two slots. OG Anunoby turned out to be the lead scorer for the team with 28 on the board.
