NBA fans are having a range of reactions to the San Antonio Spurs choosing to host Pride Night over the weekend. The team’s official account shared a couple of pictures of the celebration, which did not get many positive reactions.
Some even referred to incidents of trans people going on mass shooting sprees to express their disgust. This would be in reference to the trans shooter who killed Charlie Kirk last year and another one who went on a shooting spree and killed several at a church service.

“Love Wins (heart hands emoji) Looking forward to celebrating Pride Night at home tonight (LGBTQ flag emoji)” San Antonio Spurs official account tweeted.
“Spurs bout to shoot the lights out in support of trans shooters (transgender pride flag emoji)” one fan angrily commented.
“God is love (1 John 4:16) ‘And we have known and believed the love that God hath to us. God is love; and he that dwelleth in love dwelleth in God, and God in him.’ God says this is an abomination. (Leviticus 18:22) ‘Thou shalt not lie with mankind, as with womankind: it is abomination.’ So my question to you is Why do you hate God?” one more fan asked the Spurs.
“I miss when the NBA just played basketball and didn’t have all the political or cultural messages on the courts and everywhere.” Another fan stated.
NBA Fans Also Appreciate San Antonio Spurs For Pride Night
On the other side, many NBA fans also showed love to the Spurs for choosing to have Pride Night in their home court. Nevertheless, the game ended up being a disaster for San Antonio who lost to Portland.

“Surely all the replies will be very kind and respectful and realize this is an NBA franchise,” one fan hoped.

“(face surrounded by hearts emoji, pride flag emoji) I love our team!!” one more fan applauded the Spurs.
“W” one fan commended the Spurs with a single letter message.
Ultimately, the majority of the responses to the post were mostly derogatory, with many fans even threatening to boycott the team and move their fandom to another franchise. These fans felt that the Spurs were trying too hard to get the attention of fans by going fully woke.
