“Dude Majors In Greek Mythology”: NBA Fans Play What If Game As Giannis Antetokounmpo Wanted To Attend College

Giannis Antetokounmpo has always been one of the most entertaining stars in the NBA, but this week, he gave NBA Fans a whole new reason to laugh. The Bucks superstar randomly wondered what would happen if he could still play college basketball — and the internet instantly ran wild with it.

It all started after @ESPNNBA tweeted,

“Imagine if Giannis went back and played in college.”

That single post sent NBA Fans into full creative mode, spawning memes and hilarious takes across X (formerly Twitter).

One of the best replies came from @brzrkr99, who joked, “dude majors in Greek Mythology,” perfectly capturing both his heritage and the absurdity of imagining Giannis in a college classroom.

Another fan, @Palermo_seun, added, “Giannis in college would’ve been unstoppable. Literally a one-man highlight reel.” And they’re not wrong — a 6’11” MVP going up against college defenders would look like something out of a sports parody movie.

The funny part is, Giannis actually has ties to Marquette University, the same school that produced NBA stars like Dwyane Wade and Jae Crowder. If he somehow suited up for the Golden Eagles today, there’s no doubt every game would sell out in seconds.

NBA Fans React To Giannis’ Hilarious College Eligibility Question

Perhaps what really started it all was when Giannis Antetokounmpo and his moment of sofa-brought clarity,

“Random thoughts as I sit in my living room…do I have college eligibility??? Can I suit up for Marquette tonight?”

Random thoughts as I sit in my living room…do I have college eligibility??? Can I suit up for Marquette tonight? 🤔💭

    — Giannis Antetokounmpo (@Giannis_An34) November 5, 2025

That one line was all it took for NBA Fans to lose it.

@TitleTownTalks replied, “Bro screw suiting up for Marquette, we just lost Tucker Kraft we need you to come play tight end for the Packers.”

Another user, @GregIsKitty, joined the fun with, “BREAKING NEWS: Giannis puts up 500 points as Marquette demolishes the Southern Jaguars.”

Marquette fans, meanwhile, probably wished it were real. Imagine the boost if their old honorary alum actually walked onto the court. One thing’s for sure — tickets would sell faster than a Finals Game 7.

This lighthearted exchange also shows how much the modern fan base enjoys mixing sports talk with humor. NBA Fans didn’t just react; they created a moment that blended fantasy, loyalty, and laughter. And Giannis, as always, played along perfectly — proving that sometimes, a random tweet from a superstar can unite fans better than any highlight reel ever could.

The NBA fans know how unlikely that scenario is. Or at least how straightforward it isn’t. Yet that big what if moment really got everyone thinking.
