Milwaukee Bucks star Giannis Antetokounmpo got everyone on their feet on Monday’s game against the Indiana Pacers. The Greek Freak and the Bucks faced a familiar foe for the first time in the 2025-26 NBA season. But both teams looked different. Tyrese Haliburton didn’t play, since he’s recovering from a torn Achilles tendon, and the Bucks had Myles Turner as their starting center.

There was already a rivalry between the two teams. For the past two seasons, they’ve met each other in the playoffs. And in both instances, the Pacers were victorious. Turner joining the Bucks over the summer added to the heated competition, making it a must-see matchup.

The contest was intense as both teams refused to back down and give the other team an advantage. It all went down to the final moments of the game when the Bucks had a two-point advantage.

Pacers’ Aaron Nesmith gave the team hope when he drove to the basket and tied the score at 115, leaving 14.5 seconds on the game clock. On the other end, the Bucks relied on Giannis Antetokounmpo to lead the team to victory. He followed through by hitting a turnaround jumper to beat the buzzer, giving Milwaukee the 117-115 win.

After his shot, fans went on a frenzy on X. Here are some of what they said on the social media platform.

“THE BEST IN THE WORLD,” a fan said.

“MVP headed back to Milwaukee!” another fan commented.

“Ohhh yall let this man get an actual jumper the east is his for awhile,” one fan said online.

“If he got this in his bag mfs in trouble !!!” someone commented.

“IM POURING HONEY ON YOU GOAT,” a comment read.

Antetokounmpo finished the game with 33 points, 13 rebounds, five assists and two steals. The next game for the Bucks will be on Tuesday, against the Toronto Raptors.

Former NBA player Danny Green says Giannis Antetokounmpo is playing like an MVP

Without a co-star this season, Giannis Antetokounmpo has put it upon himself to take over the Bucks and do everything on the floor. After playing five games this year, he’s averaging 34.2 points, 13.4 rebounds and 7.2 assists.

With his recent performance, former NBA player Danny Green gave his honest assessment of Antetokounmpo. He believes that the Bucks star is deserving of recognition because he is performing like an MVP this season. Green talked about it on last week’s episode of “No Fouls Given.”

“It’s crazy to leave one of these guys out because Giannis is in there for me,” Green said. “He’s dominating. He’s doubled Shai’s buckets in the rim and layups. He’s playing MVP caliber. Who do you leave out? Like, Wemby. He’s Defensive Player of the Year and he score 30. So, I’m leaving Jokic out if I put SGA, Wemby, and Giannis.”

The question for Antetokounmpo this season is how long he’ll be able to keep his strong performance through the 82-game stretch of the regular season.
