NBA fans recently reacted to Milwaukee Bucks star Giannis Antetokounmpo declaring his timeline to being the league’s top scorer in the future.
Over at social media platform X, NBA fans reacted to the Bucks star giving a definite timeline for him to emerge at the top of the list of top all-time scorers in the NBA, which is currently headed by Los Angeles Lakers veteran LeBron James.
However, for some fans, the goal seems to be too far to reach, especially with Antetokounmpo’s personal timeline of around five years.

“Giannis is currently 21,248 points behind LeBron James,” one fan said.
Another fan, who is obviously a fan of LeBron, shut down the Bucks star’s goals of surpassing James.
“He has 0 chance of coming even remotely close to LeGOAT,” the fan said.

Antetokounmpo celebrated a milestone Saturday, becoming the sixth‑youngest player in NBA history to surpass 21,000 career points during the Milwaukee Bucks’ victory over the Brooklyn Nets, and he framed the achievement as an early chapter in a larger pursuit.
Speaking to reporters, Antetokounmpo placed himself among all‑time greats such as Michael Jordan, Kobe Bryant, LeBron James, Wilt Chamberlain and Kevin Durant, but said he still has “room to improve.”
“I think getting to the top of the scoring list is not six, seven, or eight years away,” he said. “I think it’s four years away, four, five years away, four and a half years away. I think when we are going to be 35 years old and sitting this year going to have a discussion of, I am in the top list of all time in scoring. But hey, again that’s too far away.”
Statistically, Antetokounmpo’s 21,002 points rank him 42nd on the NBA’s all‑time scoring list and leave him more than 21,000 points shy of LeBron James’ current mark, which will continue to rise while James remains active.
NBA Fans Weigh in on Giannis Antetokounmpo Becoming Top Scorer
Over at X, NBA fans have argued on whether Giannis Antetokounmpo’s personal timeline of beocign a top scorer in the league is achievable or even realistic to begin with. For some, the goal is achievable, but would come with a lot of work from the Bucks star.

“Giannis is 30 years old,” one fan said. To reach 21k and according to his total points per season which is 1970, I even bumped it up to 2000. He’ll need 10 seasons to catch Lebron. Giannis won’t age gracefully, he doesn’t have the skillset Lebron has. He doesn’t have the shooting.”

Right now, the Bucks star has played 12 seasons so far in the league, which means NBA fans would see a lot of him if he intends to achieve all-time scoring feats.
