“Do They Have A Roster Spot For Thanasis Too?”: NBA Fans Got Jokes As Giannis Antetokounmpo Gets Interest From Spurs To Team-Up With Victor Wembanyama

NBA fans just about stopped breathing when word got out that the San Antonio Spurs are expected to make a strong push for Giannis Antetokounmpo — a move that would drop the two-time MVP right next to Victor Wembanyama. That pairing alone sounds like something out of a video game, and it immediately sent fans into full-blown panic mode.

With the Bucks no longer looking like the title threat they were in 2021, the idea of Giannis exploring a new path isn’t all that far-fetched. But instead of confronting that reality, fans chose the safer route: humor.

Another chimed in, “Who needs Giannis Antetokounmpo when you have Harrison ‘drizz’ Barnes. Pass.”

A third shrugged off the rumor with, “bro this is not 2K.”

The tension only rose when ESPN’s Shams Charania reported that Giannis’ agent, Alex Saratsis, has already begun talks with Milwaukee regarding the superstar’s future. That was enough to set off a league-wide guessing game.

“ROB, PICK UP THE PHONE”: NBA fans spiral as they try to predict Giannis’ next move

Once Shams’ update hit social media, fans immediately went into recruitment-mode fantasy, firing off their dream destinations as if Giannis himself were scrolling through replies for guidance.

One fan demanded, “ROB PICK UP THE FU**ING PHONE.”

Just in: Giannis Antetokounmpo and his agent Alex Saratsis have started conversations with the Milwaukee Bucks about the two-time NBA MVP’s future – and discussing whether his best fit is staying or elsewhere, sources tell ESPN. A resolution is expected in the coming weeks. pic.twitter.com/NfrpL2Ffvr

Another wrote, “Giannis to OKC would be like adding KD to the warriors. This would be the greatest dynasty of all time.”

A third dropped, “The divorce has been in the making for quite some time. New York better get their assets ready if they really want to win a championship.”

As the Bucks deal with an uncertain season and a star openly weighing his long-term future, the pressure is officially on. Plenty of teams are lurking, plenty of fans are speculating, and at this point, only Giannis can decide whether he stays loyal to Milwaukee… or finally heads toward a greener field.
