NBA fans gave their honest reaction after one former NBA star just compared the current roster of the Oklahoma City Thunder versus the era of the Golden State Warriors back in 2015 through 2016.
The Oklahoma City Thunder’s 24–1 start has drawn inevitable comparisons to the 2015–16 Golden State Warriors, and former NBA guard Jeff Teague says the current Thunder are the superior team. NBA fans reacted, and showed disbelief in how the former Atlanta star viewed the two rosters.

“Lmao did Teague just say that Chet > Draymond?” the fan said. “2016 Dray was something else tho Chet might be on track to a DPOY this season so that comparison might be close.”
Jeff Teague believes this OKC team is superior to the 73–9 Warriors.
“I think they’re more dominant than that Warriors team. SGA and Steph is a wash, J-Dub and Klay is a wash, but that’s where Chet comes in.”

In his piece, Teague argued that the matchups between scorers like Shai Gilgeous‑Alexander and Stephen Curry, or Jalen Williams and Klay Thompson, largely balance out, but he singled out Chet Holmgren and the Thunder’s young role players as the decisive difference.
“SGA and Steph cancel each other out,” he explained. “They get buckets differently, but they both get buckets. I think J-Dub and Klay cancel each other out. They both get buckets. But that’s when Chet comes in. And I think Chet and their helpers are a little better. Like I know Andre Iguodala was good, I know Shaun Livingston was good, they all was a little older. Like these are some young dogs.”
While some did not agree with Teague’s analysis, some fans still found value in it and found it a topic worth discussing.
“That’s a very good discussion between those two teams,” one fan said.
To recall, the 2015–16 Warriors were a veteran group built around Curry’s unanimous MVP season and Klay Thompson’s All‑Star scoring, with Draymond Green anchoring the defense. That roster also relied on experienced reserves, including Andre Iguodala and Shaun Livingston, who provided steady, proven depth during their record‑setting run.
NBA Fans Get Honest on OKC vs Warriors Comparison
Over at X, NBA fans gave theri honest reaction to the comparison between the current Thunder roster versus the Warriors roster that stood at 73-9. For some fans, the comparison to today’s SGA and today’s Steph Curry is not a fair matchup.

“N****s living in the moment they forgot how the unanimous MVP looked like that year talking about SGA and Steph is a wash n***a,” the fan said. “Steph Curry was making 3’s from the hot dog stand that year lol j-dub and klay was a wash, like bro Klay in his prime?”
