NBA fans reacted to a recent giveaway announced by Memphis Grizzlies star Ja Morant, i slight of his expected return to the game for their matchup against the Utah Jazz.
Over at social media platform X, NBA fans gave their honest take on Grizzlies star Ja Morant giving away a limited number of tickets to fans for their game with the Utah Jazz, where he is expected to finally be back and play as well.
While many were appreciative of the gesture, some fans threw shade at the Grizzlies and their ticket prices by computing how much 250 tickets for their game would be for.

“That’s a sizeable $300 donation,” one fan said.

Another fan shared the same sentiment and included a screenshot of ticket prices for the said game, which goes for $10 a piece.
“Nice gesture nonetheless lol,” the fan said.
For some fans, meanwhile, the question was more of whether Morant would actually play in the game that he has heavily promoted.
Morant recently announced he will give away 250 tickets to fans for the team’s upcoming game against the Utah Jazz, a move the organization and local supporters framed as a gesture of appreciation ahead of the matchup.
The giveaway was meant to hype up interest and fan attendance to the upcoming Grizzlies versus Jazz game, and what is expected to be the return to the game for Morant. The game is scheduled no December 12, or 12/12, and with Morant bearing the #12 jersey, many fans thought it was fitting for him to run a promotion and giveaway as he did.
At the same time, team officials and local outlets noted the promotion as part of broader efforts to engage the fan base during the season, with the tickets aimed at increasing attendance and community involvement for the night’s game.
NBA fans Downplay Ja Morant Ticket Giveaway
Over at X, NBA fans downplayed the ticket giveaway of Grizzlies star Ja Morant, with some shutting it down as a desperate attempt for the franchise to get an audience. For one fan, they expect people to even sell tickets for cheap fast food.

“The attendance for that game will be about 240 people,” the fan said. “The other 10 are gonna trade those tickets for a bag of pepperoni pizza combos from the local Citgo.”

For another fan, the move was a gesture for the Grizzlies front office to not trade Morant before the trade deadline.
“Bro is doing that so they don’t trade him,” the fan said.
With the holidays coming, NBA fans are looking forward to holiday games and, potentially, more trade rumors, too.
