NBA fans everywhere were shocked upon learning about veteran Malcolm Brogdon’s sudden retirement announcement. Brogdon made the announcement through a statement shared by ESPN, where he thanked his fans and everyone who contributed to his career in the NBA.

While the retirement announcement itself comes as a surprise to many, fans were quick to point out that Brogdon only recently signed a deal with the New York Knicks. Brogdon only managed to attend one team practice before he made his decision to quit playing professional basketball altogether.

“Today, I officially begin my transition out of my basketball career. I have proudly given my mind, body and spirit to the game over the last few decades. With the many sacrifices it took to get here, I have received many rewards…” Malcolm Brogdon said in his retirement announcement.

NBA Fans have been trolling the Knicks mercilessly after Brogdon made his announcement, with many going on to blame the team itself for being a letdown for the veteran player. One particular fan could not help but suggest that Brogdon’s dislike to play even one game for the Knicks led to his retirement decision.

“I would also retire before I ever played a game for the Knicks” One staunch fan reacted.

NBA Fans Continue To Express Shock At Malcolm Brogdon’s Retirement

“Damn I was looking forward to seeing him play on the Knicks he would’ve been a huge help off the bench and whenever injuries happen” One fan commented on Brogdon’s announcement.

“Underrated hooper. Won Rookie of the Year above Joel Embiid in 2017.” Another fan pointed out.

“Wonder why he didn’t want to give it one more season” Still another fan questioned.

Nonetheless, it looks like Malcolm Brogdon is pretty satisfied with the legacy he built in the NBA. With the massive reaction from fans, it is clear that the highly talented player has touched many through his moves on the court.
