NBA Fans were left confused after finding out that Cleveland Cavaliers’ Jaylon Tyson got fined $35k by the league due to his very bold statement about superstar LeBron James.
At the post-game, Tyson swooped in when the reporter asked Donovan Mitchell about the possibility of James playing again for Cleveland, with Tyson instantly responding with, “This is Donovan Mitchell’s city now.”
While NBA Fans have found Tyson’s entry shocking, they couldn’t help but wonder why the league had to intervene and fine the young guard.

User @JerichoXVI didn’t hesitate and called out to the NBA, writing, “He’s not allowed to have an opinion? The Chinese overlords must not like it.”

Meanwhile, user @chopsdaddi believes James’ influence has crossed the line in the league, commenting, “LeBron low-key a tyrant in the NBA fr.” Either way, NBA Fans clearly didn’t like the league’s moves, with some not even buying the news, believing it is satire or just hype.
“35K for words is expensive,” one user remarked.
“League really protecting the throne like that? $35k for words is wild cap or not this fine feels personal,” one user wrote.
“Cavs’ Jaylon Tyson hits a $35K fine for comments about LeBron the league making its stance on player conduct loud and clear,” one user posted.
User @IUsed2Dunk didn’t hold back in his statement, believing the league has turned a blind eye on James’ own misdeeds, writing, “Why dont they fine him when he walks off the court early when hes losing?”
Adding to NBA Fans’ disapproval of the league is that Tyson soon apologized for his words, arguing he had no intention of attacking anyone, not even James. Fans have truly seen how the NBA has, what they call, fixed, not calling out superstars, but instantly responding to violations from newer or smaller players.

NBA Fans didn’t like Tyson’s statement on LeBron
On the other side, some NBA Fans also called out to Tyson himself, believing he has also went too far on blindsiding James, even if he explained that he has no intentions to do so. And of course, in signature Fans style, they just threw shade on Tyson.
One user, @YemiOfWeb3, believed the NBA did the right thing on fining Tyson, writing, “That’s whatsup. Make them learn the hard way.”
Meanwhile, user @RicoMetaX wasn’t convinced that someone like Tyson made that statement, commenting, “What did that benchwarmer say.”

While NBA Fans weren’t pulling no punches on calling out both sides, it didn’t change the fact that Tyson was successful in hyping the now, younger Cavaliers team.
