These days, NBA fans get to see Kyrie Irving on the sidelines because of his continuous recovery from his injury. However, it comes to a certain point that they couldn’t fathom what he does.

In a photo he shared on Instagram, Irving was seen standing by the US-Mexico border wall and captioned it with: “Until you see it in person, you have no idea.”

That was more than enough to set off NBA fans.

@g000b33zyyy said, “kyrie deadass think he the 1 man that can change the world.”

@thatkcguy__ added, “Every country has borders. America is the only country that having a border is a problem.”

While @alec_cadinale pointed out, “those gates have done alot for you kyrie just like your security that you need everywhere.”

Irving continues to recover from a season-ending ACL tear in his left knee, which he suffered in March 2025. There’s still no definite return date for the nine-time NBA All-Star, but he doesn’t stop making sure that he’ll be ready for action again.

“Kyrie is the sneaker king”: NBA fans react to Kyrie Irving’s new signature shoes

Despite being injured and out for the 2025-26 NBA season, Kyrie Irving continues to make noise in the sneaker industry after ANTA unveiled the newest shoe in his signature line, called the KAI 3 “Kai Mentality.”

Irving’s new signature shoes paid homage to the late Kobe Bryant with the colorway draped in purple and gold.

NBA fans were in awe of the design and how Kyrie honored his friend and mentor.

@KeithPamz kept it simple, saying, “Kyrie is the sneaker king.”

@StaySoberBoy13 applauded Kyrie’s collab with ANTA and said, “The kai series hasn’t disappointed in my point of view. Kyrie and ANTA. What a collaboration!!!

Even while sidelined, Irving continues to stay relevant—whether it’s through social posts that spark debate or signature sneakers that keep fans talking.
